Chinchillas make great pets! They are incredibly soft and are very intelligent for their size. They love to jump and bounce around and enjoy cages with ledges and levels to go between. They are from South America and like to stay cool, so make sure they are in a room under 80 degrees or they can overheat. They enjoy a cooled marble "Chinchiller" slab on hot days to help cool down! Chinchillas enjoy a diet of hay and hay pellets, and will take seeds and fruit as a treat, but should be given anything sugary in moderation.
