Guinea Pigs are very sweet and are well known for their pig-like squeal! They are sociable and easy to tame, and develop a strong bond with their owners. They can live 5-8 years and require both hay and guinea pig pellets in their diet, and should be given extra Vitamin C. They do well on clean beddings like CareFresh, and should not be kept on cedar or anything excessively dusty. Females do well together, but adult males should not be mixed or they may not get along. They should be offered wooden chews to help keep their teeth clean and trimmed.
