Entertainment is not as difficult as you think...
You may find when your holidays are over and everyone gets back to their normal routine, your pet may exhibit some signs of stress or destructive behavior. Here are a couple suggestions we have found to be helpful in preventing boredom.
You may find when your holidays are over and everyone gets back to their normal routine, your pet may exhibit some signs of stress or destructive behavior. Here are a couple suggestions we have found to be helpful in preventing boredom.
- Toys- Get a good indestructible toy such as Busy Buddy by PremierTM, Kong Extreme TM, or Rough and Rugged TM by Four Paws. Switch out the toys every 3 or 4 days for new things to keep their interest.
- Scatter Food: Hidden treats and scattered bits of kibble will bring out their natural foraging instincts and keep your best friend busy.
But the most important is when you are gone more often, to let your dog realize that your time away is only temporary. To help your pet achieve this, behave as an example of the leader of the pack - be strong. Use a nice reassuring voice, letting them know that everything is ok. They will feed off of your input. Meanwhile, you will be amazed at how quickly he/she will transform.
